All is not well between Mega heroes and Allu Arjun and many recent incidents are a pointer to the strained relationship between the two families. Mega Prince Varun Tej’s sly comments during the pre-release event of Matka once again brought the friction between them to the fore.
While talking on stage, Varun Tej revealed about his close bond with brother Ram Charan and also spoke about the support given by his uncles Megastar Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. Varun then said when anybody asks why I talk excessively about my family, ‘ I reply that it is my right and responsibility to extend my gratitude to them because one shouldn’t forget his roots and those who were the backbone for success even after reaching big heights’. ‘ Your success has no value if you forget the roots’, added Varun
These comments from Varun though not intentional appear to have been aimed at Allu Arjun who has been maintaining that he attained popularity and fame only with his hard work and due to his loyal fans. Many believe that Varun Tej took an indirect dig at Allu Arjun with his speech.
Talking about Matka, Varun Tej revealed it is a story how one Vasu from Vizag emerged as a gambling king with his efforts from the age of 16 to 52 years. He said director Karuna Kumar extracted the genuine actor in him with his film. He exuded confidence in the output and stated that the film itself will talk after its release. He bets big that the story of Vasu will resonate with all sections.
Matka stars Meenakshi Chaudhary and Nora Fatehi as female leads. Naveen Chandra Ajay Ghosh and Kannada Kishore played prominent roles in the film.
