With only a month to go before the much-anticipated release of Pushpa 2 by Allu Arjun, the pre-release business for the film is already a record-breaker. The film crossed the benchmark of ₹1,000 crore including both theatrical and non-theatrical rights before its release, which is apparently the most stunning pre-release collection in Indian cinema.
That is all the marketing rights have been sold out for all the centers for a whopping ₹660 crore approximately, the maximum sales were in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana belts for a whopping ₹22 crores and ₹20 crore in the Hindi belts. About the other tamil speaking states, the rights were bought for ₹50 crore in Tamil Nadu, ₹30 crore in Karnataka, ₹20 crore in Kerala. Even in the overseas territories ₹140 crores has been collected and so this movie becomes one of the most anticipated films of the past few years.
Apart from this the non-theatrical rights (which consist of digital, music and satellite) have been sold for a HUGE amount, which is ₹425 crores. They bought the digital rights of the sellers for ₹275 crores, the satellite rights for ₹85 crores, and the music rights for ₹65 crores.
It is the largest pre-release business in the history of indian cinema and it just goes to show the hustle and bustle of the entire project in telugu cinema. All the other deals not withstanding the fact that the power performances of pushpa 2 will do more than break the records, give the distributors their money.
