Varun Tej is gearing up for a pan-Indian release with his upcoming period action drama ‘Matka’. With the film’s theatrical release set for November 14, the filmmakers begin their movie promotions today by unveiling the teaser.
The film team released the teaser at Raj Yuvaraj theater in Vijayawada, immersing audiences into the world of Matka with Varun Tej showcasing his acting prowess in different avatars.
Matka is said to be based on a real-life incident that shook the entire nation. It takes place between 1958 and 1982, with the story set against the backdrop of Vizag, and the story spans 24 years. It is rumored that the story is about the renowned gambler Ratan Khatri, who is popularly known as “Matka King” in the world of gambling.
The teaser begins with a compelling statement from Ravi Shankar, highlighting that out of every rupee in circulation, ninety paise is earned by just one percent of the population. The rest ninety-nine percent fight against themselves for the leftover one paisa. People like me are part of that struggle, but you’re among those earning the ninety paisa. Don’t fall into the category of ninety-nine percent.
This set the stage for the introduction of Varun Tej as Vasu, a renowned gambler who shook the entire nation with the gambling world. Varun Tej is portrayed in different avatars, like a young, middle-aged, and elderly look, reflecting the film’s timeline of 24 years. The actor showed his versatility with this role.
Meenakshi Chaudhary stars alongside Varun Tej in this flick as his wife, with a stellar cast including Naveen Chandra, Nora Fatehi, Ravi Shankar, Kannada Kishore, Ajay Ghosh, Ravindra Vijay, and others in crucial roles. This high-budget film is backed by Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments and GV Prakash Kumar composed the musical tunes.
