The global success of SS Rajamouli’s RRR made NTR a pan-India superstar as his popularity transcended beyond Telugu States and spread all over the country. NTR is now aiming to consolidate his market as a solo hero with his upcoming multilingual project ‘Devara’ which has Tollywood director Koratala Siva at the helm. The first part of Devara is set for release on September 27th worldwide.
With just three weeks left for a humongous release, Devara is garnering tremendous buzz all over. Especially in North America, the hype surrounding Devara is quite unprecedented as the pre-sales are mind-blowing. So far, the pre-sales touched the $ 600K mark due to the phenomenal hype after the three songs turned out to be huge hits. At this pace, the film will have $2 million to $ 2.5 million gross from premieres alone.
Going by the current trend, Devara is likely to have a huge opening from its premieres. If the film manages to secure positive reports, there are big chances for a massive first weekend haul. Till now, big films like Baahubali, RRR, Kalki and Salaar have grossed beyond the coveted $ 5 Million mark. Prashanth Varma’s Hanu-Man is the only small film which touched the prestigious mark.
Now, NTR has a great chance to secure a place beside Rajamouli and Prabhas with Devara. The break-even mark of Devara is valued at $ 5.5 Million. So, if the film manages to emerge as a hit, there are good chances for it to become a non-Rajamouli and non-Prabhas highest grossing Telugu movie in North America.
Once the theatrical trailer is unveiled next week, the pre-sales are likely to get a big boost further based on its impact. In all probability, Devara is likely to set a big record apart from films of Rajamouli and Prabhas in North America.
Devara will release in two parts. Saif Ali Khan and Jahnvi Kapoor will be seen in important roles.
