The Andhra Pradesh High Court addressed a plea from the YSR Congress Party on Friday, contesting memos from Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena. The memos, which relax guidelines for validating postal ballots, allegedly contradict Rule 27F, 54A, and Form 13A of The Conduct Of Elections Rules, 1961, as set by the Election Commission of India.
The Division Bench, consisting of Justice Kiranmayee Mandava and Justice Nyapathy Vijay, resolved the petition, directing the petitioner to pursue the issue through an election petition in court. The plea was submitted on May 30, and the ruling was delivered on Saturday, June 1, at 8 PM.
