BRS MLC Kavitha, who had been detained in relation to the Delhi liquor policy case, was recently granted bail by the court. The Rouse Avenue court in Delhi dismissed two bail petitions filed by her, unequivocally stating that Kavitha’s bail couldn’t be granted. The court had concluded the hearings on Kavitha’s bail pleas, having heard arguments from both sides, and had reserved the verdict for today, which was delivered on Monday morning, reaffirming the decision that Kavitha couldn’t be granted bail.
During the arguments, Kavitha’s lawyer contended that her client had been unlawfully arrested without sufficient evidence. However, this assertion was refuted by the Rouse Avenue court. Presently, Kavitha is incarcerated in Tihar jail in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case pursued by the ED, as well as cases brought forth by the CBI concerning allegations of money laundering in the liquor policy. Previously, the court had also dismissed Kavitha’s plea to be directly produced in court.
