In the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case, the CBI has accused an individual of involvement. YS Sharmila has demanded an explanation from YS Jagan regarding the ticket given to a person named in the CBI chargesheet for the Kadapa constituency. Sharmila expressed her decision to contest from Kadapa, stating her discomfort with Jagan’s choice to field someone accused in her father-in-law’s murder case. She emphasized the importance of truth in the elections, framing it as a battle between justice and corruption. Sharmila warned that a loss for YSR’s son would signify the triumph of criminality.
Additionally, Sharmila addressed Jagan’s allegations regarding the inclusion of late leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s name in the CBI chargesheet. She explained that Sudhakar Reddy had pursued legal action to ensure YSR’s name was included in the FIR, asserting that the Congress had no involvement in the matter. Sharmila recalled Jagan’s appointment of Sudhakar Reddy, who had implicated Kanna’s father’s name in the CBI chargesheet, to a high-ranking position shortly after assuming office as chief minister.
