During her visit to Tirupati, AP Congress chief YS Sharmila took aim at Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s promises, contrasting his assurances with a promise of special status akin to a “tiger.” Sharmila highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unfulfilled pledges made at the same location in 2014, emphasizing the failure to deliver on commitments such as capital construction and the Polavaram project. She criticized Modi’s inaction, labeling him “Modi, the synonym for deceit.”
Sharmila further lamented the comparative lack of progress in Andhra Pradesh, contrasting it with states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, which have flourished under special category status with numerous industries. She accused Jagan of aligning with the BJP, alleging that he was sacrificing the state’s interests to the central government. Sharmila urged a change in Jagan’s approach and criticized the creation of new posts while thousands of vacancies remain unfilled.
