‘Dunki’ team puts ‘Salaar’ makers in a dilemma

The epic box office clash of ‘Salaar vs Dunki’ is taking new twists and turns with each passing day. It is well known that Shah Rukh Khan, in one of his media interactions after the release of Jawan, reiterated that Dunki will hit the screens on December 22nd without any doubt. So, many expected that Salaar might not release during the Christmas season. However, Prashanth Neel and Hombale Films took a gamble and locked December 22 as the new release date.

After the surprise announcement from Salaar team, there have been numerous rumours that Dunki would get postponed to a new date to avoid the clash. However, Dunki team stayed put on their decision and once again clarified that there are not going to back out from the fight.

Quite unexpectedly, the makers of Dunki released a new poster on Sunday with release date as December 21st, which is one day ahead of the original date. This is a smart decision by them because the Raj Kumar Hirani directional will get an upper hand over Salaar by releasing one day before.

The film will have a solo release all over the country and get as many screens as needed in all major territories. In overseas, both films will release on the same date because Telugu films usually have premieres one day before release.

The clever step by Dunki team has now put the makers of Salaar in a dilemma. They will need to take a decision immediately and announce whether they will stick to December 22nd or arrive on the same date as Dunki.
