USA Box Office: ‘Bro’ disappoints with mediocre run

Friday, November 22, 2024

Pawan Kalyan and Sai Dharam Tej starrer ‘Bro’ has underperformed in North America due to mixed reports. By the end of the first weekend, the Telugu remake of Tamil blockbuster fantasy comedy ‘Vinodhaya Saitham’ grossed around $ 1.2 Million ( USA + Canada). The film took an underwhelming start due to low buzz and couldn’t make much noise during the weekend as the reviews and word of mouth are not so encouraging.

Bro is the seventh film for Pawan Kalyan and the second one for Sai Dharam Tej in the million-dollar club. However, it fell short of trade expectations because it didn’t perform in the range of Pawan’s usual box office stamina. Also, Trivikram’s brand image in Overseas also didn’t work much in its favour. The remake factor and disappointing teasers and trailer impacted the buzz to some extent. Pawan’s special role is one of the reasons why the film garnered strong attention. But, the mediocre run hints that the film couldn’t meet the high expectations of trade circles and moviegoers.

Bro started on a moderate note with $ 647K from its Thursday premieres. As the talk is not so encouraging, the film struggled all through the weekend. It grossed $ 214K on Friday and added another $ 204K on Saturday to breach past the million-dollar mark. With Sunday’s gross, the tally stands close to $ 1.2 Million.

Directed by Samutrakani, Bro has its dialogues and screenplay by Trivikram Srinivas. People Media Factory is the production house behind this film.
