USA Box Office : SPY gives career best opening to Nikhil

As the underwhelming run of Adipurush nears completion in USA, Tollywood trade has pinned hopes on this week’s releases. Nikhil’s Spy is hitting the screens today after securing strong pre-release buzz due to the impressive teasers and trailers.

As per trade reports, Spy embarked on a career-best start for Nikhil in USA. The film pulled in $ 150K from its Wednesday premieres. This is the biggest opener in Nikhil’s career as it effortlessly surpassed his previous best set by Karthikeya-2 ( $ 98K). Considering the mid-week release, this is a phenomenal start for a medium-budget film. But, it will need a solid weekend to enter the profit zone.

The early reports for Spy are very disappointing. The wafer-thin storyline weaved around the missing files of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose didn’t make a strong impact in the narration. None of the elements made up for the weak script. So, the reviews are quite discouraging.

Spy is directed by Garry BH and has Aishwarya Menon as the female lead.
