Samantha’s last hope is Vijay Devarakonda

Top-tier heroines of Tollywood are in dire straits because of the dearth of big-ticket offers due to the advent of new-generation starlets. Samantha Ruth Prabhu is one of the fewest top-league actresses who continues to make her presence felt despite heavy competition from upcoming heroines and Bollywood divas. She is striking a balance between regular commercial roles and female-centric characters. Occasionally, she is sizzling in item numbers and hard-hitting web series episodes. Unfortunately, her success rate nosedived in recent years due to wrong choices. Many of her recent outings failed to strike a chord with the audience.

The recent debacle of Shaakunthalam, an ambitious and big-budget mythological period drama, is another big blow to Samantha’s career. Now, she is left with a solo project in Tollywood – Kushi, a romantic entertainer starring Vijay Devarakonda in the lead role. Samantha needs a strong comeback with Kushi to sustain for a few more years. She pinned all her hopes on this Shiva Nirvana directional which is getting ready for release in September this year.

Samantha is hoping for a big blockbuster in the form of Kushi. Though Vijay Devarakonda’s recent offerings failed at the box office, there is a strong buzz about Kushi. The heartwarming posters and the fresh pairing have managed to create good hype for the film. Vijay’s lover-boy image will draw attention to this romantic drama. So, Samantha is confident that Kushi will come as a breather for both of them.

At present, Samantha is busy promoting her upcoming web series Citadel. She will soon join the sets of Kushi to wrap up her pending portions.
