RRR Japan run: Third highest Indian Grosser

Monday, December 23, 2024

Visionary director SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR has been having a dream run in Japan. The latest collections from the island of rising Sun suggest that the movie is raking in good numbers since its release. A crazy multistarrer of two top stars Mega power star Ram Charan and Young Tiger NTR Jr, RRR created a sensation in India and later went on creating havoc across the USA.

Rajamouli and the two-star heroes recently went to Japan ahead of the film’s release and aggressively campaigned to get their love and support. As expected, Japanese film lovers received the movie with rather open arms and they posted amazing numbers on its opening day. After 17 days of its run, RRR has raked in 185 Million Yen and became the third highest-grosser of Indian films by surpassing Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and only standing behind ‘Baahubali-2’ and ‘Muthu’.

Looking at the current footfall and daily grossing, trade experts opine that the RRR by the end of this weekend will surely surpass ‘Baahubali-2’ which collected a total of 300 M Yen and might have all the chances to remove Superstar Rajini Kanth’s ‘Muthu’ lifetime collections of 400 M. This is indeed a huge achievement considering the fact that the ticket prices haven’t escalated since ‘Muthu’ which was released 27 years ago.

Directed by Rajamouli, Charan and Taarak gave their career best in this visual spectacle. MM Keeravani scored the music and DVV Danayya bankrolled this high-budget movie.

The film is going places and will collect many international awards across the globe.
