A quick recap of the releases of 2022 gives us a clear-cut idea of what audiences are expecting from all the Indian movie industries.Taking Indian film industry in general has been reigning with the big stars across the country and star-studded films are said to be minimum guaranteed despite the region.
However, 2022 happened to be quite contrary to this belief and put content prior to star power. Except for the biggie RRR, almost all the top star-studded films bit the dust and even fans are uninterested to watch such films on OTTs at their leisure.
Be it, Akshay Kumar, from Bollywood or Megastar in Tollywood, they scored huge flops despite their craze and fanbase.
On the contrary, small and content-based films became superhits and some even went beyond the regional borders. The films which were least expected became silent and sleeper hits, shocking trade pundits, and movie analysts. Movies like Karthikeya-2, and Kantara have ended up as blockbusters all over the country.
When it comes to the Telugu movie industry, Bimbisara and Sita Ramam generated huge revenue in the two Telugu states.
Thus it is believed that the audiences are paying more attention to the content rather than which star is in it.
