The recently released Malayalam film 2018 is re-writing history at the box office. This film is now officially the new all-time highest-grosser in the Malayalam film industry.
2018 which is touted to be a survival drama, has enthralled the audience to the core with the gripping narration and magnificent performance from the lead pair. This film has surpassed Mohan Lal’s all-time highest collections of Pulu Murugan in 17 days by collecting a total gross of 137.60 crores at the box office. Mohan Lal has been in the first position to date with 137.35 crores(Puli Murugan). If we have to consider Kerala state alone, then 2018 is standing at number 4 with 65.25 crores gross which is lagging behind Pulu Murugan(78.25 crores), Baahubali-2(73 Crores), and KGF-2(68.50 Crores).
Jude Anthony Joseph directed this film which is based on the Kerala floods and Ovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Tanvi Ram, and others are seen in pivotal roles in this film.
