Hyderabad Police have arrested two YouTubers who posted videos making `inappropriate’ comments against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on social media. Additional CP (Cyber Crime) Vishwa Prasad explained the details of the case to the media.
Congress Party Social Media State Secretary Kailash has complained that a video of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy being insulted by an ex-handle named Nippu Kodi has gone viral on social media. A reporter from Pulse TV interviewed an unidentified person. The person who spoke in it made `inappropriate’ comments against CM Revanth Reddy.
Vishwa Prasad said that the investigation has revealed that Pulse TV made these comments intentionally. This video that came out on Pulse TV was trolled by an ex-handle named Nippu Kodi. 12 policemen who went to Revathi’s house at 5 am on Wednesday took her into custody.
During this time, Revathi’s phone, her husband and director Chaitanya Dantuluri’s phone and laptop were seized. On the other hand, the police also seized her Pulse YouTube office. She was arrested in a case registered for broadcasting a video of a farmer saying that the farmer’s brother was not coming and making inappropriate comments against the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, the police found that a person was deliberately interviewed at the BRS party office and made obscene comments against Revanth Reddy. Vishwa Prasad said that the video was recorded last month but was telecast two days before the assembly sessions.
He said that she was taking incentives from the BRS party and was trolling too much. Based on Kailash’s complaint, a case was registered under sections 67 IT Act, 111 BNS, 61(2), 353(2), 352. Additional CP Vishwa Prasad said that Pulse TV channel CEO and journalist Revathi and Pulse TV spokesperson Bandi Sandhya alias Tanvi Yadav have been arrested after investigating the case.
He revealed that 2 laptops, 2 hard disks, logo, router and 7 CPUs were seized during searches at the TV office in Madhapur. He explained that Revathi had previous cases in LB Nagar and Banjara Hills. The two arrested were produced in court and sent to Chanchalguda jail after being remanded for 14 days.
