Razor is an action thriller directed by the director and main cast Ravi Babuhits theaters today (May 8, 2026). Let's see if this Razor review finds the film delivers strong content like Ravi Babu's previous hits.
Story
Interior Minister Kanakaraju (Veeranna Chowdary) assassinated Prime Minister Sitaramayya (Ramaraju) when he refuses to resign. Kanakaraju and his son discover that a CCTV business owner named Vishnu (acquaintance) accidentally captured footage of them assassinating the CM.
Kanakaraju's son and his men brutally murder Vishnu and his wife. The rest of the story follows how Vishnu's little daughter Teju (Baby Tejal Vikhyathi), is performed by Rudra Pratap (Ravi Babu), a mobile zookeeper when she becomes living proof of her parents' murder.
performances
Ravi Babu plays the lead role and his screen presence suits the character. He looks convincing in action sequences, but delivers only a decent performance overall. acquaintance, Mother Sultana, Baby Tejal Vikhyathi, Banerjee, Pranavi Manukonda, Veeranna Chowdary, Ramarajuand others fail to leave an impact – similar to the disappointing performances in recent Telugu action films.
analysis
Ravi Babu acts and directs Razor. The film jumps into the main plot from the first scene and within the first half hour the conflict and goal for the main character are established.
However, after an impressive start, the film becomes very predictable. The way villains and their scenes are shown is too routine. You can easily guess what will happen and there are hardly any surprises in the script.
The film also has many logical errors. A missing child case draws national attention, but the police are rarely seen – even as the hero and his men battle thugs and uncover clues to an important video.
A few action sequences work well throughout the film, and a hard-hitting family flashback in the second half is fine, if overdramatic. Apart from these parts, the film is rather uninteresting.
Positive
- A few strong action sequences
- Captivating opening moments
Negatives
- Artificial emotions
- Outdated approach to villain characters
- Bad cast and weak performances
- Excessive violence in fights
Razor Review – Final Verdict
Ravi Babus The violent action drama Razor focuses on its core theme from the first scene. But the film is weighed down by a predictable narrative and weak performances from the cast. The emotional depth feels limited, making it difficult to connect with the characters. Only a few action sequences manage to leave an impression in this otherwise run-of-the-mill thriller.
