Rapaka’s Comeback Ignites Fury Among Janasena Workers

Saturday, May 17, 2025

A fresh controversy is unfolding within the Jana Sena party in KonaSeema. Rapaka Varaprasad, who initially won a seat as a Jana Sena candidate in 2019 but subsequently departed from the party, has resurfaced at a recent party meeting. His previous harsh criticisms of party leader Pawan Kalyan have raised eyebrows, leading to speculation about his possible return to the party fold. This news has not been well received by many party members, particularly in Rajolu, where there is growing dissent against his potential comeback. The situation is evolving into a heated debate among party activists, highlighting the divisions and tensions within the Jana Sena ranks.

In the 2019 elections, the Jana Sena party managed to win only one MLA seat, with Rapaka Varaprasad from Rajolu initially shifting his allegiance to the ruling YSR Congress Party (YCP) and criticizing Pawan Kalyan. In response, Pawan appointed former IAS officer Varaprasad to oversee Rajolu. Varaprasad won his seat in the latest elections, while Rapaka contested from Amalapuram as a YCP candidate but lost. Recently, after a period of silence, Rapaka reappeared at a Jana Sena meeting, sparking speculation about a possible return to the party.

Rapaka Varaprasad’s return to the Jana Sena party platform has ignited a wave of discontent among party activists. Many are questioning how he can reappear at a party meeting after having criticized Pawan Kalyan and aligning himself with the ruling YSRCP. Activists expressed their frustration over reports that suggest he is attempting to negotiate his return with the support of influential leaders within the party. They firmly stated that there would be no place for Rapaka in the Rajolu Jana Sena.

In response to the growing tension, local MLA Dev Varaprasad addressed the situation, asserting that Rapaka’s recent remarks focused solely on issues concerning college lecturers in Malikipuram, and did not discuss any political matters.
