The police stated in the remand report that the obscene comments against the Amaravati women were made with malicious intent as per a pre-plan. The Ramand report submitted in the court regarding the arrest of journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao said that there is a need to unravel the conspiracy behind this.
Officials stated on this occasion that such accusations were made against Amaravati as part of a long-term plan. On this occasion, the investigating agencies need to investigate this thoroughly. The police stated that they believe that such comments were made with a criminal conspiracy to provoke unrest and tension in the society.
It was alleged that a debate was held on Sakshi TV under the auspices of Kommineni Srinivasa Rao. In the same debate, VVR Krishnamraju made objectionable comments. The police stated Kommineni not only did not deny those comments but also spoke in support of them. Moreover, he had seen this news in several newspapers and indirectly encouraged Krishnam Raju.
The remand report made it clear that Kommineni should be taken into police custody and interrogated, so as all the matters would come out. It stated that in their interrogation he did not cooperate at all and gave answers in a way that misled the investigating agencies. The police described it as an act to disrupt law and order in the state and create unrest.
For this reason, the police clarified in the remand report that Kommineni should be sent to remand. The police also said that there is a need to interrogate witnesses in this case. Meanwhile, during the hearing of the case, Kommineni requested the judge to provide him with a bed and pillow in jail due to his age.
However, the judge made it clear to Kommineni that the facilities will be as per the prison rules. On the other hand, Kommineni’s lawyer Ponnavalu made lengthy arguments. The judge did not agree with those arguments. The judge ordered a memo to the DSP on registering an atrocity case against Kommineni.
