The upcoming mythological epic Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, continues to generate significant attention with its scale and star cast. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, the film is being positioned as one of the most ambitious projects in Indian cinema.
In a recent update shared by the production team on social media platform X, the makers revealed that the film has brought together nearly 10,000 artists and technicians from across the globe. “The upcoming Ramayana unites close to 10,000 talents worldwide. This is nearly double the workforce involved in major Hollywood productions like Avatar and Dune. At one point, over 4,000 individuals were working on the project simultaneously,” the statement read.
The film is reportedly being made with a combined budget of ₹1,600 crore, with the first part estimated at ₹900 crore and the second part at ₹700 crore. If confirmed, it would make Ramayana the most expensive Indian film to date.
The first part of the two-part saga has completed filming and is slated for release during Diwali 2026. Key portions of the second part are still under production, with Ramayana: Part 2 expected to release during Diwali 2027.
