Nara Lokesh Urged Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav To set Up AI Center of Excellence For Education In AP

IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh has requested that an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence for Education be set up in Andhra Pradesh. He also appealed for single window permissions for the establishment of data cities. To this end, Lokesh met Union Railway, IT and Electronics Minister Ashwini Vaishnav at Rail Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday.

He thanked the union minister for making the highest allocation in the Railway Budget. Lokesh explained to the Union Minister about the steps being taken for the development of the IT and electronics sectors in Andhra Pradesh and the new policies brought in.

He said that in order to attract investments in the IT and electronics sectors in AP, not only are permissions being given quickly under the Ease of Doing Policy, but steps are also being taken for the Speed of Doing Business so that projects can be set up quickly.

Lokesh requested that the AI Center of Excellence for Education, which was recently announced in the Union Budget, be set up in Andhra Pradesh. He said that Andhra Pradesh is ready to embrace the opportunities that will come with AI, and he requested the Central Government to provide support for this.

He also requested for Center’s support for the data city they want to set up in Visakhapatnam. He requested that the special policies required for the establishment of data cities be formulated and that the Center facilitate the single-window method of obtaining permissions for the establishment of electronics companies in the state, while embracing the opportunities that come with AI.

Lokesh requested that cooperation be provided for the establishment of electronics companies in the state. He said that 800 poor families have been living on unused railway lands in Mangalagiri for many years, and he requested that those lands be allocated to the State Government with a humanitarian perspective. He said that permanent house pattas will be provided to the poor families living there.

Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said that within seven months of the coalition government coming to power in the state, they were able to get funds for the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone, Amaravati, Polavaram and Steel Plant with collective efforts. Lokesh appreciated the efforts being made by Union Ministers and MPs for the development of the state.
