Telangana former IT Minister and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) was questioned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for nearly eight hours on Monday in connection with the alleged irregularities in the Hyderabad Formula E-Race. According to sources, ACB officials attempted to seize KTR’s cellphone during the questioning. However, KTR reportedly told investigators that he did not bring his phone to the session.
Officials then directed KTR to submit all mobile phones used during the period of the Formula E event by June 18. The phones are expected to provide key digital evidence related to alleged procedural violations in the organization of the high-profile race.
Speaking to the media after his appearance at Telangana Bhavan, KTR criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and questioned the intent behind the probe. “When I sought a discussion in the Assembly on the Formula E-Race, Revanth ran away. I even offered to undergo a lie detector test, but no one responded,” he said.
KTR also alleged that the ACB repeated the same set of questions throughout the day and that the interrogation appeared scripted. “The officials were asking questions dictated from the top. I asked them directly—where is the corruption?” he said.
Taking a jibe at the Chief Minister, KTR added, “Revanth has been to jail before and now wants to put us in jail for sadistic satisfaction. If I am jailed, I will treat it as a time for rest. I am not afraid of cases or imprisonment.”
