A day after former YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy confessed before the SIT inquiry in liquor scam that the main accused in the case Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy (Raj Kasireddy) was only responsible for the entire transactions, the later threatened that he would expose Vijayasai Reddy soon, after he get relief from the ongoing legal troubles in this case.
Raj Kasireddy, who is absconding from the police scrutiny, though they issued notices for him, released an audio message on Saturday and claimed that a false campaign has been going on against him for years in the liquor scam case. He said that SIT officials came to his office and home in his absence and served notices twice.
Indicating he is avoiding the police, he said he went to the court on this issue. He said that he will soon come to the media and reveal the details about the allegations made against him by former MP Vijayasai Reddy. He said that the court ordered that notices be given within a specified time.
Similarly, he explained that he had filed a petition in the Supreme Court for legal protection. He revealed that he is waiting for the orders of the Supreme Court. However, he made it clear that he has no connection with the liquor scam. Expressing concern that Vijayasai Reddy had made allegations against him, Raj Kasireddy said in the audio that he will call the media and reveal his history after completing his legal battle.
In the liquor scam that took place during the YSRCP government, he played a key role on behalf of the then government officials. He worked with YS Jaganmohan Reddy before the 2019 elections and was appointed as the government’s IT advisor when the YSRCP came to power.
While in that position, he played a major role in the behind-the-scenes liquor scam. His orders were allegedly crucial in the supply of J brand liquor to the government-run liquor shops at that time. It is reported that the SIT has collected evidence that Raj Kasireddy collected no less than Rs. 60 crore every month from the companies that paid commissions and transferred about Rs. 3000 crore to the Tadepalli Palace officials.
The authorities have found evidence that in addition to creating a network of bribes, he set up a special office in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, in collaboration with a prominent leader in the YSRCP government and ran the racket. It is believed that Raj Kasireddy used to decide how much liquor to buy from which liquor company, on which day, and which brands to sell in what quantities.
