Kavitha Sets Sights on CM Post, Expresses Discontent Within BRS

BRS MLC K. Kavitha has declared that her ultimate political goal is to become Chief Minister, stating that she will pursue this ambition regardless of whether it takes 10 or 20 years. In a candid interview with a media outlet, Kavitha ruled out the possibility of forming a new party, reaffirming her loyalty to the BRS but expressing serious dissatisfaction with its internal affairs. She also revealed her interest in contesting the upcoming elections as an MLA.
Addressing the state of the party, Kavitha alleged that some negative elements have surrounded BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, and asserted that the party’s revival depends on their removal. She attributed the party’s defeat and her own loss in Nizamabad to internal sabotage and a lack of support from party MLAs. Kavitha also criticised the BRS for not backing her during her legal troubles involving the Enforcement Directorate.
While maintaining that she shares no personal differences with her brother K.T. Rama Rao, she acknowledged a political rift, stemming from the leak of a letter she wrote to their father. On the issue of phone tapping, she said KCR would not order such actions, though lower-level officials might have been involved. Confident of BRS returning to power amid rising public dissatisfaction with the Congress government, Kavitha announced plans to strengthen her organisation ‘Jagruthi’ in all constituencies.
