Senior IPS officer PSR Anjaneyulu, who is facing allegations of harassing Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani during the previous YSRCP government, has received a huge relief from the AP High Court. The High Court has taken a key decision to provide relief to him, who was the first IPS officer to be arrested while holding the rank of Director General of Police.
The High Court has issued interim orders on a petition filed by him to this effect asking the police to stop further proceedings in this case for the time being. PSR Anjaneyulu is accused of framing false cases against Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani and her family members to harass her.
The police allege that PSR Anjaneyulu hatched this conspiracy to thwart YSRCP leader Kukkala Vidyasagar and implemented it along with his junior IPS officers Vishal Gunni and Kanti Rana Tata and other officers. He is currently in jail in this case.
However, PSR filed a petition in the High Court stating that he has nothing to do with this case and that he should be acquitted. The High Court, which conducted an inquiry into this, issued interim orders stopping all further action against him. The High Court has already issued similar orders to IPS Vishal Guni, Kanti Rana Tata and other officers facing charges in this case.
Though PSR Anjaneyulu could get interim relief from the High Court in this case, another case of irregularities in APPSC, in which also he was arrested, is continuing.
On the other hand, it is noteworthy that the coalition government is also continuing the cases registered by the YSRCP government against Kadambari Jethwani, the complainant in this case. Jethwani has repeatedly appealed to government officials to withdraw them, but to no avail.
In this context, it seems that the series of orders issued by the High Court is disturbing her. On the one hand, the cases against her are continuing and on the other hand, she is complaining that the government is not paying attention.
