Former ministers who left Jaganmohan Reddy and joined the alliance after the defeat in the last year’s elections are left isolated and humiliated in those parties. They are not getting the minimum recognition. They are having to remain politically silent as they are not getting the desired posts, at least not getting priority in the parties. Now there is no chance of joining another party for them.
After the defeat of YSRCP in the 2024 elections, the leaders who worked as ministers under Jaganmohan Reddy left the party and joined the alliance. All of them were given priority when Jagan was in power. Jagan’s close relative Balineni Srinivas Reddy, a key leader in YSRCP, joined Jana Sena.
He expected a reward of an MLC seat and also a berth in the state cabinet by Pawan Kalyan. Although it has been months since he joined that party he does not have enough recognition. The local MLAs and leaders of Jana Sena’s ally TDP are not willing to work with Balineni.
Balineni has not been given any post or responsibilities in Jana Sena also. With this, Balineni is finding it difficult to protect his own followers. It is said to be the same case of former Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani from Elur. It has been months since Alla Nani joined the Telugu Desam Party.
TDP Eluru leaders have been opposing Nani’s joining since the beginning. The TDP ranks are not accepting Nani as their leader. He is not invited to party programs. Questions have started coming from followers as to why he changed the party so much? Nani is unable to go to the TDP office.
Forgetting the priority given by Jagan and joining the TDP after the party lost, Nani now finds it bleak political future. The pressure to take the right decision from the cadre is increasing. Similarly, there is a discussion in the party that the situation of Mopidevi Venkata Ramana from the joint Guntur district is similar.
Although Mopidevi lost the 2019 elections, Jagan inducted him in his cabinet making him an MLC. After that, he was sent to the Rajya Sabha. However, after the party lost the 2024 elections, Mopidevi, who resigned from the YCP along with the Rajya Sabha seat, joined the TDP.
He has not been given any post so far. He is not seen in TDP programs. However, the situation of those who left the YCP for coalition parties before the elections seems to be good. Some of them even became ministers. Now, these former ministers are seen in a dilemma due to lack of support from the ranks of that party.
