A key development has taken place in the murder case of former minister Dr. YS Vivekananda Reddy. A case has been registered against Dr. Chaitanya Reddy, son of the accused Devireddy Sivashankar Reddy in this case. A case has also been filed against several police officers.

The police have registered a case on the complaint of Dastagiri, who became an approver in Viveka’s murder case. Dastagiri had previously complained to the SP that Dr. Chaitanya had conspired with them in the jail while he was in Kadapa Central Jail. In the complaint, he stated that he had become an approver in the Viveka case only due to pressure from the victims and that Chaitanya had pressured him to tell lies.

Dastagiri had complained to the police at that time that Chaitanya had conspired to give him Rs. 20 crores if he did so. In addition, Dastagiri had complained against Chaitanya Reddy and the police officers who had pressured him to support the accused without registering the case at that time.

Based on his complaint, Pulivendula police have now registered a case against DSP Nagaraju, CI Eswaraiah and Central Jail Superintendent Prakash. Meanwhile, in November 2023, Dastagiri told the media several times that Chaitanya Reddy had set up a medical camp and threatened him while he was in jail as a remand prisoner. Apart from that, he also complained to the CBI and the district SP.

Finally, the police registered an FIR against Chaitanya Reddy on the complaint given by Dastagiri. However, Chaitanya had previously denied Dastagiri’s complaint. He said that he had gone to the jail only for the medical camp. He said that there were jail officials and medical officers with him.

Dr. Chaitanya Reddy questioned at that time why he had not filed a complaint soon after, if he had really gone to the jail to threaten him. He made comments saying that Dastagiri was a criminal. Now it remains to be seen how Chaitanya Reddy will react to the latest police case being registered. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has previously issued notices to Chaitanya Reddy, who is facing allegations of threatening Dastagiri.
