India won its first medal at the 2022 Common Wealth Games on Friday. Sanket Mahadev Sargar who participated in the men’s 55kg weightlifting competition won India’s first medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. After snatch and clean & jerk lifts totaling 248 kg, Sanket Sargar was awarded the medal. The 22-year-old who hails from Maharastra currently holds the title of national champion in the 55 kg weight class.
