Correcting Congress Mistakes In AP Bifurcation, Says BJP

Saturday, October 12, 2024

BJP State Chief Spokesperson Lanka Dinakar said that they are correcting mistakes and injustice accorded to the state by Congress in AP Reorganization Act like a void check and Narendra Modi government providing funds for the development of the state.

He lamented that the state was crushed in the hands of the mother Congress `Chakravyuha’ and the wings of the state were broken by the child Congress `Chakrabandhan’. Not only did the Congress party divide the state illogically, but he alleged that Jairam Ramesh and Chidambaram were behind making the AP Reorganization Act a mess.

Lanka Dinakar was furious over AICC general secretary Jairam Ramesh X’s remarks that the packages given to AP in the latest union budget by the NDA government at the center would be bounced cheques. If the Congress thinks that Polavaram will be a bounced check, he recalled that already the Center had merged seven mandals into AP and till now Rs. 15,000 cr funds were provided.

He said that the Union Finance Minister had said in the Budget 2024-25 that the responsibility of completing Polavaram is the Centre’s. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, he said that several schemes were already provided.

Besides necessary infrastructure for outer ring road at an estimated cost of Rs 2,500 crore, he said smart city projects with Rs. 3000 crore and exemption from capital gains for farmers who have given land worth Rs. 25,000 crore were provided.

For Amaravati Railway connectivity Rs. 2,500 crore was announced and about 50 Central Public Sector Undertakings have taken steps to build, he added.

Dinakar lamented that Jairam Ramesh’s role in unscientific drafting of the State Reorganization Act will never be forgotten. He deplored that despite the cooperation of the Modi-led central government, they are shedding crocodile tears.

Though industrial corridors were sanctioned in three areas for industrial progress in the state, Dinakar said that it was not  properly utilized between 2019-24. He said that in the 2024-25 budget, the Center has given green signal to the industrial nodes of Koparthi and Orvakallu. He deplored that Congress leaders are trying to create differences among states in the name of analyzing the union budget.
