CM Chandrababu call To plant 5 crore saplings In Next Four Years

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has called for a target of planting five crore saplings in the next four years, of which one crore saplings are being planted across the state today alone. An International Environment Day program was organized within the capital Amaravati. Along with Chief Minister Chandrababu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Narayan participated in the sapling planting program in Ananthavaram village.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that he had seen Vanajeevi Ramaiah until recently. Even though he was not there, Ankarao is now working for the conservation of Nallamala. He said that Andhra Pradesh should be a model for the country in environmental conservation. He said that horticulture is developing well in the Rayalaseema region. As a result, green cover is increasing in other areas as well.

Chandrababu lamented the previous YSRCP government for not knowing the use of trees and they did not know how to plant trees except cutting them. He deplored that whenever the Chief Minister went in a helicopter, they used to cut down trees on the road below. He asked presently whether even a single tree was being cut anywhere when the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister came?

He said that in some countries, if a tree is cut, it is imprisoned permanently and in some countries, there are laws that say that cutting a tree is like killing a person. He said that 37 percent green cover should be achieved in the state of Andhra Pradesh in four years. He appreciated that there are people who plant and grow more than 10 trees in their lives.

CM Chandrababu asked where is the right to breathe air for those who do not actually grow trees? He said that from now on, seeds will be given to sisters who tie rakhis according to the name of their brother’s star. He said that this innovative program will be launched this year itself. He said that if a rakhi is tied to a brother by looking at the star, it will be useful for growing trees.

The Chief Minister suggested that everyone should set up a roof top garden or kitchen garden at home. He said that fish, chicken, and waste from homes will be used for recycling. Stating That there are valuable herbs in the Nallamala forests, he said that along with red sandalwood, the forest herbs in the Nallamala forests should also be protected.

He recalled that they are generating electricity from garbage and waste to energy plants that are coming up in the next three years. He said that plastic will be completely banned by next year. The Chief Minister said that urban forests will be established in 175 constituencies.
