TFJA Celebrates New Year with Welfare Upgrades
The Telugu Film Journalists Association (TFJA) rang in the Telugu New Year by unveiling its 2026-27 calendar and refreshing its insurance benefits for members. Superstar Chiranjeevi hosted the launch, personally handing out badges to the freshly elected Executive Committee.
Insurance Coverage Doubled to ₹10 Lakhs
In a major win for journalists, TFJA has hiked the insurance sum for each member’s family from ₹5 lakhs to ₹10 lakhs. This ensures better financial protection for loved ones. Additionally, a brand-new accident policy offers a weekly stipend of ₹10,000 for journalists who need 2 to 12 months of bed rest following an accident.
Part of a Bigger Industry Shift
This welfare push mirrors a growing trend in Tollywood. Earlier this year, star Ram Charan rolled out free health insurance for more than 500 film dancers, highlighting a surge in support for industry workers beyond the spotlight.
ID Cards and a ₹5 Lakh Donation
TFJA is introducing official ID cards to give film journalists proper recognition on sets and at events. Chiranjeevi handed the first cards to Executive Committee members during the ceremony. He also contributed a ₹5 lakh donation, specifically asking that the funds go toward member welfare programs.
Event Attendees and Leadership
The gathering saw TFJA’s top brass, including President YJ Rambabu, General Secretary Prasadam Raghu, Treasurer Naidu Surendra, and Politburo Convener Varanasi Lakshminarayana, along with other Executive Committee and Politburo members.
