Chandrababu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Chief has suspended a party worker with immediate effect for making derogatory comments regarding YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife, Y. S. Bharathi.
Party worker Chebrolu Kiran, known to have had links with the digital arm of TDP (I-TDP) for long, has, it is reported, posted insulting remarks regarding Y.S. Bharathi on the social media website. The reportedly derogatory words made by Kiran did rounds online instantly and earned widespread displeasure and condemnations from many circles.
As soon as Chandrababu Naidu came to know of the incident, he acted at once. In no time, he suspended Kiran from the party and ordered TDP leaders in Guntur to register a police complaint. Following his order, a case was registered immediately, and Chebrolu Kiran was arrested by the police.
The TDP leadership’s swift action has generated general appreciation in the social media, with people hailing Naidu for upholding moral values and respect for women, even within his own party.
Reacting to the controversy, Chandrababu Naidu issued a strong statement, saying:
“Insulting women in any form is unacceptable. Whether it’s a political opponent or a fellow citizen, women deserve respect. Anyone from our party who crosses that line will face strict consequences.”
He also emphasized that the TDP government is committed to protecting the dignity of women and will not hesitate to act when that respect is compromised.
