Story:

In the village of Devipuram, nestled in East Godavari district, stands the revered Varahi Amma temple. The temple’s long-time trustee, Nagaratnamma (Jayasudha), lovingly raises her three grandsons — Gajapathi (Manchu Manoj), Varadha (Nara Rohit), and Srinu (Bellamkonda Sreenivas) — treating them all equally, with deep affection and values.

Trouble begins when a cunning tantric sets his sights on the temple’s valuable land. After Nagaratnamma’s passing, Gajapathi and Varadha rally behind Srinu and help him become the new trustee, believing he is the right person to uphold their grandmother’s legacy.

But fate takes a dark and emotional turn. In a shocking twist, Gajapathi finds himself in a situation where he must take the life of Varadha — the very brother he holds closest to his heart. What could drive him to such a tragic act? Where does Srinu stand in this complex web of events? Why is he forced to lie to the police and appear guilty in the eyes of Varadha’s wife (Divya Pillai)? What truth is Srinu hiding — and why? The film answers these questions.

Review:

Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas infuses his part of Srinu with high-voltage energy. His performance is particularly noteworthy in the possession scenes, wherein his face and body language heighten the intensity. From emotional scenes to high-octane action, he has a very strong screen presence and is the audience’s favorite with his versatility. His comfort in dance numbers and stunt sequences adds an extra zing.

Making a strong comeback to films, Manchu Manoj proves his mettle in a layered character occupying positive and negative undertones. His delicate performance, undertone changes in emotions, and powerful delivery of dialogue are evidence of his growth as an actor. Manoj’s transformation as a character is one of the most interesting things about the movie, and his natural acting makes him a winner.

Nara Rohith has a calm and steady performance, providing a quiet but engrossing act. His restraint in expressing emotion without crossing the line lends weight to the story. Rohith’s character provides balance between the over-the-top arcs of the other two leads, and his presence is crucial to the story.

Aditi Shankar, Anandhi, and Divya Pillai integrate well into their respective roles and provide performances that enhance the emotional center of the film. Goparaju Ramana is impressive as the uncle and introduces some warmth and humor. Ajay and the ensemble cast fulfill their roles with conviction and add depth to the story without hogging the limelight.

Director Vijay Kanakamedala should be lauded for creating powerful emotional scenes and linking them with the spiritual message of the film. The Varahi Amma temple link is shown meaningfully, and the bonding between the three lead actors is shown with a heart. The screenplay falters at some places, especially the second half where the pace drops and some scenes appear predictable.

Key conflicts could have been fleshed out further, and Srinu’s romantic arc needed stronger emotional beats. A more defined character graph for Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas and better-written antagonist roles would have added more punch to the plot.

Sricharan Pakala’s background score enhances several pivotal scenes, adding emotional weight. The songs, though not chartbusters, blend well into the narrative.

Producer KK Radhamohan ensures that the film doesn’t fall short in terms of visual appeal and scale. The production quality remains consistent, offering a rich cinematic experience that supports the director’s vision.

Though the film is not perfect, it gets appreciated for its genuine performances, heartfelt storytelling, and spiritual undertones. Featuring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj, and Nara Rohith giving their best shots, the movie has something for the fans of a mix of action, sentiment, and mythology.
