AP Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju Hints at Pulivendula Bypoll Possibility

Wednesday, February 12, 2025
New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju has indicated the possibility of a by-election in Pulivendula, citing former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s continued absence from Assembly sessions.
Addressing the media in Delhi, Raghurama stated that as per legislative norms, an MLA who fails to attend Assembly proceedings for 60 consecutive days without prior permission could face disqualification. If Jagan does not participate in the upcoming sessions, a by-election in Pulivendula would be inevitable, he asserted.
However, Raghurama clarified that he personally wishes for Jagan to attend the Assembly and actively engage in discussions.
