The AP Cabinet held a lengthy discussion on the deaths of witnesses in the former minister YS Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case. After the cabinet agenda items, the ministers and the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu discussed the deaths of witnesses including the recent death of Ranganna for about an hour.
The DGP, who participated in the meeting, revealed that the police investigation had also confirmed that Ranganna died suspiciously. CM Chandrababu deplored that former chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy had criminalized politics for his own interests and that there was a need to control those who were involved in organized crimes.
Just as Viveka’s murder was initially portrayed as a heart attack, suspicions were expressed in the Cabinet over the initial broadcast in the Sakshi media that Ranganna was killed by the police. The CM commented that this is why he has been repeatedly cautioning on the need to be vigilant against conspiracies of Jagan.
He reminded that witnesses died like this in the Paritala Ravi murder case also. The issue of the death of the driver who brought Jagan and Bharathi from Hyderabad to Pulivendula on the day of Viveka’s murder was also raised in the cabinet.
It was discussed that the driver overheard Jagan and Bharathi’s conversation about Viveka’s murder during the long journey, which led to the suspicious death. The cabinet discussed that six people have died so far.
When the ministers questioned why the media would attribute Ranganna’s death to the police if there was no malice, they raised suspicions that there was a conspiracy to murder Ranganna and attribute it to the government. Another witness, Dastagiri, was also discussing the issue of threats received and how to take the case forward due to the suspicions.
The CM opined that even though the case is under the jurisdiction of the CBI, it is our responsibility to protect the witnesses. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan commented that it is unfortunate that the witnesses died suspiciously.
The CM suggested that Jagan should reverse the anarchy by setting up TV and newspapers to mislead the society in order to change the people. He explained the developments of Viveka’s murder once again and reminded his colleagues of how Jagan acted on certain days, including examples.
