Actress Anushka Shetty’s upcoming film Ghati has been postponed once again, leaving fans disappointed. The film, which was initially scheduled for release on July 11, has now been officially deferred, with the makers citing delays in VFX work as the reason. The announcement was made through a post on social media platform X.
“Cinema is like a river — it flows. Ghati is not just a film, but an echo, a forest breeze, a story born from the soil. We are crafting each frame with high standards to ensure a memorable cinematic experience. We believe this wait will turn into a cherished memory. Thank you for the continued love and support,” the team said in its statement.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Ghati is Anushka’s first film after Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty (2023). The film is positioned as a heroine-centric action crime drama and marks the reunion of Anushka and Krish after their acclaimed collaboration in Vedam. The cast includes Vikram Prabhu, Ramya Krishna, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles.
The film was initially planned as a summer release on April 18, but was later pushed to July 11. Promotional material released so far has generated positive buzz. Actor Vikram Prabhu, who appears alongside Anushka, recently shared that he lost eight kilograms for the role and described working with her as an enriching experience. The film reportedly explores the nexus of the drug mafia, intertwined with a strong social message.
