In a surprise move for Akkineni fans, Akhil Akkineni’s much-anticipated spy action thriller Agent has officially premiered on SonyLIV. Initially scheduled for streaming from March 14, the platform released the film earlier than expected, making it available from Thursday evening.
Directed by Surender Reddy, the film stars Akhil Akkineni in the lead role, with Sakshi Vaidya as the female lead and Mammootty in a pivotal role. The film, which hit theaters two years ago, failed to perform at the box office but has now garnered attention with its OTT release.
Agent is now streaming in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
### Plot Synopsis
The story follows Ricky, aka Ramakrishna (Akhil Akkineni), a middle-class youth who aspires to become a spy. After failing the ‘RAW’ entrance exam three times, he resorts to hacking into the system of RAW Chief Mahadev (Mammootty) to gain his attention. Meanwhile, Dharma, aka God (Dino Morea), joins forces with China to execute ‘Mission Rabbit,’ a massive conspiracy to destroy India.
Mahadev assigns Ricky to stop this deadly mission. How Ricky handles the high-stakes operation and why he is so determined to become a spy forms the crux of the story.
