Kollywood actor Ajith Kumar has officially ruled out any plans to enter politics, stating that he has no interest in the political arena. Marking 33 years in the film industry, Ajith made the comments during a recent media interaction, where he extended his best wishes to all film personalities stepping into politics but confirmed that he would not be among them.
“I have no personal intention to join politics. It is not an area that interests me,” Ajith stated, offering his encouragement to those entering the field with the aim of driving change. He expressed hope that everyone stepping into politics with positive intentions would achieve success.
Ajith also commented on the recent political debut of actor and friend Thalapathy Vijay, who launched his own political party. Describing it as a “bold decision,” Ajith lauded Vijay’s commitment and courage in taking up such a significant responsibility.
Speaking more broadly, Ajith praised India’s unity in diversity, highlighting the harmony among people of various faiths, castes, and languages in a country of 1.4 billion. He noted that governing such a diverse nation is a task only political leaders can manage, and emphasized the scale of their responsibilities.
Recalling his recent visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan to receive the Padma Bhushan award from the Government of India, Ajith shared his admiration for the arrangements and security at the presidential residence. “It was only then that I truly understood how challenging it is to lead a state or a country. The experience offered valuable insight into the demanding lives of our national leaders,” he added.
Ajith concluded by reiterating that Vijay’s decision to enter politics was courageous and deserving of respect.
