Former minister and BRS executive president KT Rama Rao has been issued notices by ACB officials once again. The notices state that he should appear for questioning on the 16th at 10 am in the Formula E case conducted during the previous government. The ACB will question KTR for the second time in this case.

On May 26, ACB officials had issued notices to KTR to appear for questioning on the 28th of last month. However, KTR said that since his tour schedule to the US and UK has already been finalized at the end of the month, he will appear after his return and will cooperate with the investigation as a law-abiding person.

In this case, the ACB had previously questioned KTR, the then Municipal Department Secretary Arvind Kumar, and former HMDA Chief Engineer BLN Reddy. On the other hand, the ED is also investigating this matter.

ACB officials recorded former minister KTR’s statement on January 9 in the car racing case. The information given by KTR and the issues that came to light during the investigation of others were compiled and the final stage of the investigation was undertaken.

As part of that, notices were issued to interrogate KTR for the second time. The ACB has registered a case alleging misuse of Rs 55 crore in the Formula E car race case organized during the previous government’s tenure.

An FIR has been registered against former minister KTR as A1, senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar as A2, and former HMDA engineer BLN Reddy as A3. On January 8 this year, ACB officials questioned senior IAS Arvind Kumar, former minister KTR on January 9, former HMDA chief engineer BLN Reddy on January 10, and Greenco Ace NextGen MD Chalamalasetty Anil Kumar on January 18.

Officials questioned the representatives and CEO of Formula E Operations virtually through a Zoom meeting and collected information. The ACB is reportedly conducting a wide-ranging exercise on the issues to be questioned by KTR a second time.  New questions are being formulated that have been compiled from the facts revealed in the investigation so far and the points made by various organizations and officials.

The ACB is trying to piece together the entire case based on the points and answers given by KTR in this investigation. Accordingly, the ACB has collected complete documents related to Formula E car race proposals, negotiations with the London company, agreements and payments.
