Hindu American Temple Cultural Center (HATCC) a.k.a .Sri Guruvaayoorappan Temple (Krishanji Mandir)
www.krishnatemple.org Morganville, NJ team distributed over $66,500 to all the fire victims on July 30th, 2012.
The HATCC team has been actively involving since day one when the fire accident took place in Woodbridge Village, Avenel, NJ and trying their level best in helping the victims in many ways to ease their pain and loss.
Krishna Temple volunteers quickly responded to the tragedy and set up a task force under the guidance of HATCC Chairman Dr. Yegnasubramanian and started their services by offering the food on a timely basis from day one to all the victims and the team is continuously distributing the food as per their needs for the past few weeks. This has been a great help to the victims when their apartments are burnt into ashes and there is no way for them to prepare their own food.
The Temple was to raise $66500.00 towards the noble cause and the team distributed $1330.00 to each household of the victims of this fire accident. Woodbridge Mayor:John E. McCormac was present on site during this distribution process.
Temple Officers & EC Members consisting of Nandu Balija (President), Gundanna (Vice President), Maha Lingam (Board of Trustee), Srinivas Ganagoni ( Volunteer Committee, Chair), Kasi Subramanian (Food Committee, Chair), and other volunteer team consists of Viswanath, Guru Prasad, Manikavasagam, Radhika Manikavasagam, Vasumathi, Mahesh Narayan, and Surya were present on site and help distributing the funds to all the affected victims.
HATCC team is committed to extend their services towards the community when there is an emergency arises in addition to the divine propagation of HINDU dharma across the globe.
About Krishna Temple:
The Krishna temple is built on a ~40 acre property with parking for over 300 cars, located at 35 Wooleytown Road, Morganville, NJ 07751, and is one of the largest temples in USA. The Temple built the priest’s quarters consisting of twelve, fully-furnished apartments in 2010. The upper level of the temple houses all the sanctums within an area of ~17,500 sq. ft. The lower level has a multi-purpose hall, facilities, gift-shop, class rooms etc. Broad, magnificent granite steps lead to the temple in the upper level.
The presiding deity of the Temple is Lord Sri Guruvaayoorappan. In addition, the temple houses, Ganesha; Balaji with Sridevi & Bhudevi; Siva with Ambika; Subrahmanya with Valli and Devasena; Ayyappa; Satyanarayana; Kannikaparameshwari; Bhadrachalam Rama, Krishna, Durga/Lakshmi/Saraswati, Gayatri, Kalabhairava, Hanuman and Navagrahas. All images are of Granite and sculptured by traditional artisans of Tamilnadu. Lord Ayyppa sanctum will have the 18-steps similar to those in Sabarimala in Kerala.
In addition, the temple has several unique features. It houses the utsava murty’s of Lord Kalyana Srinivasa with Sridevi and Bhudevi from the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), and Lord Satyanarayana from the Annavaram Satyanarayana Swami Devasthanam. The temple hosted a spectacular Kalyana Utsavam of this Kalyana Srinivasa by TTD in May 2010, with the participation of 20 officials and others from TTD. Similarly, Satayanarayana Vratam was hosted by the Temple when the Annavaram Devasthanam performed it in 2010 also. The sanctums and vimanams of Guruvaayoorappan and Ayyappa are similar to those in Kerala, with wood-copper finish.
